What Are the Pros and Cons of Procrastination? #bloganuary

Procrastination : to keep delaying something that must be done. to put off intentionally and habitually. procrastination is connected to negative functioning until an opportunity is lost. the bottom line is things are just not getting done. the act of procrastination itself can bring some degree of gratification due to the fact that you are temporarily relieved of doing the thing you need to do. but that is short lived since the task is still out there calling your whole name awaiting your attention. #bloganuary

What Language Do You Wish You Could Speak? #bloganuary

I’d really like to learn ASL (American Sign language). I have books & am familiar with a few signs but sadly/honestly have not applied myself. I’ve been so called interested for many years. I’ve considered taking a course or two but talked myself out of it every time. I’ll work harder on getting started & keep track of my progress on here. It is a beautiful language & the deaf community is robust … & I’d love to be part of it. #bloganuary

My Own Room

In my dream last night I remembered my first bedroom. I begged my mom for it & she made it happen. It was nicely organized & unlike what I thought it would be. I was afraid of it. It was different. Unfamiliar. Of course it was! It’d never existed before. Plus, it was downstairs. Everyone else was upstairs. I was only 10 years old. It didn’t take long for me to come to love my new space. If I were in it today I would appreciate it still. Cozy minimal. #bloganuary

What Is a Song or Poem That Speaks To You and Why? #bloganuary

Poem : Rudyard Kiplings ‘If’. I first read this poem as a young girl & was incredibly impressed with it. Throughout the decades, I’d return to it many times & have found much comfort & encouragement as a result. When my sons were born I individually introduced them to this poem & would remind them individually, as they grew up, to reacquaint themselves with it. It’s words will carry you far. #bloganuary

Look Outside!

Throughout my days there’s always been someone to call me to say “look outside”! I stop what I’m doing to do so! Deciding quickly in my mind which window will be the window & head for it. With a smile of anticipation & the heart of a child my eyes widen as I gasp with amazement … it’s snowing! Thank you Gloria for thinking of me & making the call! #bloganuary

Who Is Your Favorite Author and Why?

Acknowledged as the greatest book of all times because of its antiquity, it’s total circulation, the number of languages into which it has been translated, it’s surpassing greatness as a literary masterpiece, and it’s overwhelming importance to all mankind. Independent of all other books, it imitates no other. It stands on its own merits, giving credit to its unique author. No other book has taken so long to complete. At some point there was a gap in its writing for almost 500 years. All together, a period of some 1,610 years was involved in producing its completion. It’s contents reveal the past, explains the present, and foretells the future. These are matters that only He who knows the end from the beginning could author. All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work. Some 40 men were inspired, by God, to write its library of 66 books. WHY : From the book of Job 38 through Job 42, the author gives a lesson in man’s littleness, answering Job out of a windstorm (chapter 38). Animal creation shows man’s ignorance (chapter 39). Any contending of a faultfinder with the Almighty is NEVER the proper view (chapter 40). It would be the height of presumption to question any part of Gods doing at the bar of human judgement.
